Videotones Project Releases Triplet Of New Clips: Care, Interlude and Seed Of Idumea

Ist schon etwas länger her als man das letzte Mal von Eric Kleptone’s Videotones Projekt hörte, welches sich das Ziel gesetzt hat, alle Songs des Albums Uptime/Downtime mit entsprechenden Videoclips umzusetzen. Innerhalb der letzten zwei Tage sind gleich drei neue Clips erschienen, von denen mich so wirklich nur “Care” überzeugen kann, was wohl an den Evil Dead Bildzitaten und Faith No More liegen muss.

Faith No More’s original video for the song ‘We Care A lot’ has been cut and spliced to form the main basis of the video, while the lyrics ‘it’s a dirty job but someone’s gotta do it’ have been interpreted by taking clips featuring a number of serious dudes, on a serious mission, kicking some serious ass.

Das sechste Clip des Videotones Projektes ist draußen und dieses mal hat wieder Instamatic seine Finger im Spielchen gehabt. ‘Mad Groove’ von der Uptime Seite ist es geworden und unglaubliche 24 Filme wurden als Sample Material für dieses Video verarbeitet.

The 6th video from The Videotones is about television – an intentional theme running through nearing all the videos but here Instamatic takes The Kleptones ‘Mad Groove’ and merrily skips through 24 films, TV shows and music videos channel surfing as he goes, causing upset and destruction in his wake. The Kleptones – Untired (Reborn Identity Video Mashup)

Es sind ja schon wieder einige Wochen ins Land gestrichen seitdem etwas beim Videotones Projekt passiert ist. Nun gibt es wieder einen neuen Clip gemixt von Reborn Identity, der zu meiner großen Freude den für mich schönsten Track der Downtime Seite ‘Untired’, der immer wieder fantastischen Foo Fighters, visualisiert.

The video features footage from the 1980 movie, “Altered States”. The film follows the story of a Harvard scientist, played by William Hurt, who becomes obsessed with finding the universal truth of existence through the use of psychedelic drugs and sensory deprivation. In the course of his self-experimentation he almost loses his humanity but is brought back from the brink by his estranged wife who loves him – and won’t grow tired of him – in spite of his all-consuming obsession. Eventually he learns that there is no truth beyond human existence, so finds his own answer to the question, “is this just desire or the truth?”. It’s a tenuous link, I know, but a good excuse to make use of the film’s captivating imagery.

Nachdem sich das erste und das zweite Video des Videotones Projektes mit der Uptime Seite des Mashup-Albums “Uptime/Downtime” der Kleptones beschäftigen, zeigt sich nun mit dem dritten Video endlich der ruhigere ambientöse Part der Downtime Seite.

Und dieses Video von Instamatic macht alles richtig! Denn es fokussiert sich eben nicht darauf die bekannten vorhandenen Musikvideos der Interpreten ineinander zu mashen, sondern es bedient sich bei so großartigen Filmen wie Koyaaniqatsi, Powers of Ten und einigen Szenen aus The Known Universe und erschafft so etwas wirklich Souveränes.

Jetzt hab ich doch glatt vergessen euch über den zweiten Release des Videotones Projekt aufmerksam zu machen, welches Erik Kleptone im Zuge seines Mashup-Albums Uptime/Downtime initiiert hat. Nachdem der erste Release eher vor sich hin kleckerte wird jetzt ordentlich geklotzt und mit “This Song Smells” das große Nirvana vs. Blur Mash-Up-Feuerwerk gezündet. Das entsprechende Video hierzu ist mal abgesehen von den nervigen Werbeeinblendungen ziemlich gelungen und macht ordentlich Spaß. Und los!

The Kleptones ‘Welcome Back’ Video-Mashup

Unter dem Projekt The Videotones, angeführt von unserem liebsten Mashup-Remixer Erik Kleptone, werden in den nächsten Wochen und Monaten nach und nach alle Tracks des Mashup-Albums Uptime/Downtime visuell umgesetzt und ins Netz gepumpt. Den Anfang macht hierbei Instamatic der sich den Titel ‘Welcome Back’ vorgeknüpft hat. Großes Damentennis wie ich finde und ich bin gespannt was da noch kommen mag.
