Super Mario Bros. in Real Life – Making Of The Piranha Plant

Kalapussa der im wirklichen Leben Jaime Margary heisst und von Beruf Bildhauer ist, hat die Piranha Pflanze aus Super Mario nachgebaut! Das Ding ist echt mega creepy und könnte glatt im kleinen Horrorladen geführt werden.

In creating it, I based my design on this question: Had it been based on a real living plant, what would it look like?

I used clay, a strengthened wire skeleton and a special mix of acrylics to get the right appearance of flesh (particularly the inside of the mouth).

The end result is quite disturbing to some, flatteringly beautiful to others.
