Trailer: “Unicorn City”

Unicorn City bezeichnet sich selbst als “Live action role play (larping) video romantic gaming comedy film” eine Kombination die sicherlich nicht gerade die Kassen füllen wird, aber Grund genug für mich diesem Streifen eine Chance zu geben. LARPG ist schließlich die höchste Nerdstufe der RPG-Szene (bin seinerzeit auf der Pen&Paper Schiene hängen geblieben – DSA,D&D, Shadowrun ftwk) und im Groben und Ganzen sieht das Alles auch recht ordentlich aus. Wie dem auch sei, oben der Trailer und hier die Synopsis:

We follow Voss (the lead character) a die hard gamer who desperately needs a job. When a position opens for his dream job with a game company he is asked for evidence of his leadership qualities. Gulp! Now he must prove himself. What should he do? Organize a food drive? Adopt a highway and pick up trash? Or rather, how about create a Utopian Society for his gamer buddies and become their ruler.

Voss creates Unicorn City as a place where wizards and elves rule supreme, and a mere walking distance from his house. It is there that he documents his leadership abilities with the help of his friend Rashanna. Rashanna is an elven princess who has an eye on Voss but he’s too involved in building the Utopia to notice her advances. As the city grows and tensions rise Voss encounters his most formidable foe, Shadow Hawk, who steals everything that belongs to him. Voss must sacrifice himself and his friends in order to obtain his dream.
